Hey there,
I BECAME A COUNSELOR BECAUSE I WANT TO SUPPORT PEOPLE AS THEY HEAL FROM TRAUMA.
I will demonstrate respect, empathy, and compassion as we work together on this journey.
I use Bowen’s Family Systems Approach along with Object Relations Theory as my main approaches, but I am open to using other theories that might be more effective based on the situation. The Family System has a huge impact on individuals and I believe that what happens in childhood impacts you in teenage years and adult life.
I want to work in collaboration with my clients based on their understanding of their concerns and their goals. I will help facilitate a deeper exploration of issues as you are ready and may give suggestions for practices to do outside of therapy sessions.
When I am not at work I spend a lot of my time with a group of friends in the Lansing area. I am also a foster parent that does respite care and emergency placements. I enjoy going to the gym, going to yoga, hiking, and traveling.
Education: I am currently a student at Central Michigan University. I am in my 3 rd year of the program working on obtaining my masters degree of Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I also did my undergraduate at Central Michigan University where I obtained my Bachelor’s degree of Applied Arts.
