Hey there,

I BECAME A THERAPIST BECAUSE I BELIEVE MENTAL HEALTH IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS PHYSICAL HEALTH.

Mental health services can help people with various concerns as they transition through normative life challenges and the unpredictable. Too often, stigma and not feeling heard deter people from seeking the help they need. I believe in creating a safe environment where people feel heard and respected throughout their mental health and relationship journies. I believe in a strengths-based approach that capitalizes on the best aspects of what people already possess.

I work primarily with adults struggling with stress, anxiety, developmental transitions, trauma, identity development, coping skills, self-esteem, boundaries, relationships, and religious trauma. While I believe that people can derive many beautiful strengths from religion and spirituality, these strengths are sometimes exploited, creating harm. I am LGBTQIA+ allied and affirming and approach services through an anti-racist lens. I have experience and training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Religious Trauma, Somatic Experiencing, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).

Outside of Rooted Counseling, I enjoy spending time with my spouse and our two cats, Odin and Maya. I also enjoy cooking, connecting with nature, yoga, reading, community advocacy, and traveling in my free time.

Education: I received my master's in counseling with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). I also received a bachelor's degree in psychology with a research specialization and a bachelor's in anthropology from UNR.
