Hey there,
I BECAME A THERAPIST BECAUSE I BELIEVE EVERYONE DESERVES A SAFE SPACE WHERE THEY CAN FEEL HEARD, SEEN, ACCEPTED AND KNOW THEMSELVES MORE FULLY.
As a therapist, I prioritize building a strong therapeutic relationship and working together with each client to meet their goals. I use a trauma-informed lens to create a warm, compassionate, non-judgmental space where individuals can feel safe, be challenged, and grow. I love to add in humor in the therapy room and
appreciate a good bit! I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming and identified clinician and am bilingual in Spanish and English.
I am passionate about working with adults of all ages who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, life transition struggles, stress management, interpersonal relationship stress, difficulties with self-esteem, and identity/racial identity development. Further, I have a special interest in working with bicultural folks and supporting those navigating the unique challenges this brings.
I incorporate various evidence-based treatments in the therapy room, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and Grounding skills, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I am relationship-centered and person-centered in my approach, and seek to build safe, genuinely caring space with the clients that I serve.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my spouse and our families. I am an entertainment nerd, and like keeping up-to-date on the latest movies, shows, and video games. In my free time, I enjoy drawing, playing board games, and exploring new crafting hobbies. I love to travel, always searching for new dining experiences when doing so, picking up an additional fridge magnet at every new location.
Education: I received my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Spring Arbor University and my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Hunter College in New York City.
