Hey there,
I BELIEVE WE ARE CREATED FOR CONNECTEDNESS, AND ALL NEED OTHERS TO WALK ALONGSIDE US ESPECIALLY DURING DIFFICULT CIRCUMSTANCES. I BECAME A SOCIAL WORKER TO BE A PART OF THAT PROCESS AND TO HOLD SPACE FOR VULNERABILITY.
Ultimately, I desire to create a nonjudgmental environment for clients to come as they are and explore their experiences and emotions so they can show up abundantly to the life they have. I feel incredibly privileged when individuals take the courageous step to reach out for support and trust me with their unique stories of being human.
I have training in utilizing a variety of evidenced-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness. I aim for a culturally competent, trauma-informed, strengths-based, collaborative, holistic practice, and I am always learning. With interested clients, I am also able to utilize a faith-based approach.
I have experience working with adults who come with concerns for anxiety, depression, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, parenting transitions, thoughts of suicide, life transitions, relational stressors, chronic medical conditions, and housing and food insecurity.
Outside of work, you’ll find me trying to keep up with my spouse and three young children; spending time with friends; making my best attempts at gardening, yoga, and calligraphy; and enjoying whatever podcast, Pandora playlist, or TV show I’m into at the moment. Life is beautiful and sometimes terrible, and I’m so grateful we don’t have to do it alone.
Education: I received my Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from Western Michigan University and my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) from Cedarville University.
