Hey There,
I BECAME A THERAPIST BECAUSE I BELIEVE EVERYONE DESERVES A SAFE, COMFORTABLE AND NON-JUDGMENTAL SPACE WHERE THEY CAN FEEL SUPPORTED, HEARD, AND VALIDATED.
As a therapist, it is incredibly important to me that you feel safe and comfortable in the therapy space. Therapy can be vulnerable and intimidating at times. It is my goal to create a space where you can be who you are while feeling valued and supported. In therapy, you are in the driver's seat and I am here to support and empower you on your journey. I believe in the power of collaboration and working together because you know yourself best and what you need, regardless if it might not always feel that way. I will always meet you where you are and start where you need to start.
I primarily work with teens, young adults, and adults. I have experience in supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life stressors and changes, self-doubt, body image issues, low self-esteem, and those who may feel lost and do not know where to start. I have a special passion for those who have experienced trauma, specifically those who have experienced sexual assault and/or domestic violence. I also have a passion working with individuals who are a part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and those who are neurodivergent. Although those are some of my passions, I enjoy working with individuals from all walks of life and I strive to create a space where you feel safe, welcomed, and supported.
I use a client-centered, empowerment-based, and trauma-informed approach in therapy. I have received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). It can be difficult to ask for help and talk to someone about what is going on in your life. My goal is to be that person for you. Everyone deserves a safe space to unapologetically be themselves and receive the care and support they deserve. It is my goal to provide a safe space for you to begin your therapeutic journey and I would love to support you along the way.
Education: I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Saginaw Valley State University in 2020 with a minor in Youth Services. I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Michigan State University in 2022 with a focus in Evidence Based Trauma Treatment.
