Hey there,
I BECAME A THERAPIST BECAUSE WE ARE BUILT TO COPE AND HEAL IN COMMUNITY.
You may be living with trauma, dealing with ongoing oppressive circumstances, or be working through a particularly challenging life event. No matter where you are, I hope to meet you there.
My work is often with adults with experience of trauma, complex family dynamics, life transition, neurodivergence, anxiety, and/or depression. I provide LGBTQIA+ and gender-affirming care. In my therapeutic approach I am mindful of the stigma many identities and experiences are saddled with and provide non-judgmental, trauma-informed therapy.
My approach is person-centered and strengths-based. I utilize a catered approach to each individual, pulling from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as incorporating Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR) and Reprocessing and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD. You are the expert on your own experience and perspective. Together we can identify areas for growth and work toward a more compassionate existence.
Outside of the office, I am likely to be getting in a walk or some couch time with my dogs. I stay in touch with my farming roots by growing a way-too-large vegetable garden with my spouse every year. I'm an enthusiastic reader and have been working my way through a mystery novel collection inherited from my grandmother.
Education: I received my Master’s in Social Work from Michigan State University.
