Hey there,
MY DECISION TO BECOME A THERAPIST DEVELOPED OVER TIME AS I RECOGNIZED THE EXPANSIVENESS OF OUR MIND-BODY CAPATICITIES AND HOW THEY CAN BE PROFOUNDLY TRANSFORMED THROUGH A THERAPEUTIC RELATIONSHIP.
I believe that hope is the tether between our joy and pain, and that within a therapeutic practice, we can learn to establish our self-compassion and courage to allow both to exist. As Ocean Vuong says, “hope is often the most courageous thing, because it means you’re all in.”
I am a queer and trans millennial pursuing my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree through the University of Michigan. My focus in our sessions will be providing a reliable, empathetic container for you to explore your capacity. Whether you wish to verbally process the weight of unresolved experiences, find a movement or mindfulness practice that strengthens your self-trust, or simply exist in a space where you are met with warmth and understanding, I am here to support you on your journey.
I work with adults, young adults and teenagers experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, and gender identity and sexuality exploration. I also have a growing interest in working with clients with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). I prioritize an anti-oppressive approach in my practice and hold space and recognition for the unjust systems we are collectively and constantly healing from. I hope to utilize a variety of modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), somatic therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy.
When I am not engaged with work or school, I like to hang out with loved ones, read queer fiction novels, make playlists for my walks, and practice songs for Thursday-night karaoke.
Education: I received my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Western Michigan University and am pursuing my Masters in Social Work (MSW) from University of Michigan.
