Hey there,
I BECAME A THERAPIST BECAUSE I BELIEVE HEALING IS POSSIBLE, EVEN AFTER THE HARDEST THINGS.
I help adults with complex trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression reclaim their sense of self. I have been told I present with a genuine warmth that helps people feel safe, and I hope that means the hard work of healing will feel more like sitting with someone who truly understands than a stuffy therapy session. I like to blend an informal, relaxed, client-centered style with somatic-informed techniques and the structure of evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). That means you can sprawl out on the couch, sip your favorite beverage during sessions, or simply breathe here while knowing the work we are doing is grounded in proven, effective treatment. My goal for therapy is to be a space you look forward to, where caring for your mental health feels more like "me-time" than an obligation.
For over a decade, I’ve supported survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, other traumas, grief, and major life transitions. I’ve also worked with older adults and their caregivers through MSU’s Dementia Care Lab, and I have had the privilege of serving culturally diverse clients, including refugees, multilingual individuals, and underserved communities.
Outside of the office, you’ll usually find me at local craft shows, festivals, or farmers' markets, or maybe even someday traveling the U.S., making stops at every tourist trap I can find (world's largest ball of yarn, anyone?) At home, I’m happiest belly-laughing with my family over a round of Quiplash, binge watching Gilmore Girls with my teens, or snuggling my fur babies.
Education: I earned my master’s in social work and a certificate in evidence-based trauma treatment at Michigan State University, and my bachelor’s in social work at Spring Arbor University
